This family is a chocolate loving bunch. For this Smoothie Sunday, we came up with a wonderful compromise of yummy & healthy all in one.
Sundays are designated to produce & photograph food for Susan Simply Healthy & it has peaked Adam’s interest into becoming more involved in the process. For this Smoothie Sunday, we decided to create something we would all enjoy with a little bit of added health benefits.
Since Bananas & Chocolate go so well together, I decided to add some flax into the mix. The nutritional qualities of flaxseed are incredible. The best way to benefit from them is to grind them so that the body can absorb these qualities. Along with flaxseed, we added clover honey, vanilla greek yogurt & a cup of milk. Not a bad snack, not bad at all….
The quality time spent together in the kitchen really goes a long way. This is something I learned a lot about while attending Le Cordon Bleu as president of the Slow Foods Club.
Our defense should begin at the table with Slow Food.
Let us rediscover the flavors and savors of regional cooking and banish the degrading effects of Fast Food.
In the name of productivity, Fast Life has changed our way of being and threatens our environment and our landscapes. So Slow Food is now the only truly progressive answer.
That is what real culture is all about: developing taste rather than demeaning it. And what better way to set about this than an international exchange of experiences, knowledge, projects?
Bringing family together in the kitchen & around the table allows time spent together that builds a lifetime of memories. I strive to practice these principles & have learned to slow down while living among a fast paced society.
My other helper, Be-Bee the wonder-pup. She is the best pup in the world. Visit Be-bee’s you tube channel to see more of her cuteness.
After putting this satisfying smoothie together, we drank it down quickly. We look forward to getting together again next Sunday for another Smoothie post.
